Sgraffito - A new interpretation of an old technique
Sgraffito and sgraffiti come from the Italian word sgraffiare "to scratch". It is a technique of wall decor (interior and exterior walls) produced by applying layers of plaster and then scratching to reveal parts of the underlying layer. An interesting interplay of positiv and negativ designs and textures becomes visible. Sgraffito on walls has been used in Europe since classical times, it was popularized in Italy in the 15th and 16th century. The use of sgraffito was common in the creation of housing façades for the purposes of advertising.
This old technique creates wonderful individuality in terms of form, texture and color - Let your wall tell his own story!
